Label Spotlight March - Sensible Antixx

Sensible Antixx Records emerges as a bold, DIY-rooted alternative to the status quo, with the duo bringing their experience in event programming to the label world.

The outfit previously carved their own lane in the underground scene as independent promoters, establishing successful event series including Sensible Soirees and Any Rhythm Sunday.

For AIR's March Label Spotlight we caught up with Kristina Hood to learn more about Sensible Antixx Records. 

HOW WAS SENSIBLE ANTIXX RECORDS CREATED? WHAT IS SENSIBLE ANTIXX RECORDS ALL ABOUT?

Sensible Antixx Records was officially created in 2025 by myself and my business partner, Antony Attridge (aka Antixx). Before becoming a label, Ant and I ran event and promotion company Sensible Antixx, and had already built a reputation through underground shows, live-music events, and cultural projects including the critically acclaimed Australian hip-hop documentary Burn Gently. The transition from community organisers and storytellers into label owners came naturally as our creative ecosystem grew.
The label itself is designed as a home for artists who don’t fit neatly into genres or commercial expectations. It champions authenticity, cultural depth, artistic freedom and boundary-pushing music. We like to think that it elevates voices that are thoughtful, unconventional, and committed to truth-telling through their art. And in that way, it also gives us a lot of freedom in the artists and projects we work with, allowing us to operate in multiple capacities, genres, platforms and strategies.

WHAT WAS THE MOMENT WHEN YOU DECIDED YOU WANTED TO START A LABEL? WAS IT WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO OR DID SOMETHING ELSE LEAD TO IT?
Starting the label emerged from years of working directly with artists, community builders and storytellers. As Sensible Antixx, we had already been running events and curating spaces for left-of-centre talent; launching a label became the logical next step when we realised many of the artists we worked with needed support, advocacy, and a place to release forward-thinking music.
