This Week in the Charts - 19th January, 2026 & Festive Break Debuts

This week in the charts we have debuts from Cosmo's Midnight, Steph Strings, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Cosmo's Midnight debuted at #10 on the Independent Label Singles chart with ’45’. 

Steph Strings debut at #1 across both album charts with ‘Feel Alive’ and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard secured #5 on the 100% Independent Albums chart & #7 on the Independent Label Albums chart with 'PetroDragonic Apocalypse Live'.

Over the break in the charts we welcomed debuts from Mouseatouille, Tones and I, Teenage Dads,Boy & Bear, Benjamin Stewart,  Jim Moginie & The Family Dog, The Preatures, Szymon, Corrugated Highway, STÜM, breathe.,  The New Christs.

The week commencing 22ND DECEMBER 2025; Harry Vanda took out #3 on the 100% Independent Singles chart & #4 on the Independent Label Singles chart with ‘Devil Loose’, Hot Machine secured #4 &  #6 with ‘Leather and Steel - EP’. Iyah May came in at #12 on the Independent Label Album chart with ‘Good Citizen’, Confidence Man came in at #14 with ‘Damaged Goods’ and Kerser came in at #15 with ‘Last Laugh’.

On the album charts Boy & Bear took out #1 across both the 100% Independent Albums chart and the Independent Label Albums chart with ‘Tripping Over Time’; Benjamin Stewart took out #2 with ‘Junkdrawers’, ‘Thunk’ from Jim Moginie & The Family Dog came in at #3 on the 100% Independent Albums chart & #4 on the Independent Label Albums chart with ‘Blue Planet Eyes Live!’ by The Preatures came in at #4 & #6, followed by The New Christs securing #5 & #9 with ‘The Burning Of Rome : Selected Works’. ‘Tigersapp (10th Anniversary Edition)’ by Szymon came in at #8 on the 100% Independent Albums chart, followed by Corrugated Highway at #12 with ‘Redgum Years Live’, ‘Son Of The Forest / Fruit Of Knowledge’ from STÜM came in at #14 and breathe. debuted at #15 with ‘For Your Darkest Days’.

In the week commencing MONDAY 29th DECEMBER; welcomed debuts from Tones and I securing #16 on the Independent  Label Singles chart with ‘Hallelujah’; followed by Teenage Dads who secured  #17 with ‘Alone Again For Christmas’ and Mouseatouille secured #16 on the 100% Independent Albums chart with ‘Live at Lithuanian Club’.

In the week commencing MONDAY 12th JANUARY; Miss Kaninna debuted at #19 on the Independent Label Singles chart with her latest single ‘Backstreets’; while  ‘Redgum Years Live’ from Corrugated Highway entered the Independent Label Albums chart at #14.
