To celebrate the end of another incredible year for Australian Independent Music, the team here at AIR have compiled a playlist of the top 20 100% Independent Singles release from this year.

At #20, I Know Leopard stand strong with their August release Landmine. The Teskey Brothers are not far behind in at #19 with October's I Get Up which debuted #10, withDMA's not far in front at #18 with The End off their April album For Now.
#17 are Brisbane darlings Cub Sport, who gave us Sometimes in late October which debuted at #11. 

John Butler Trio takes the #16 spot with Home whileHayden James takes #15 with November's Better Together feat. Running Touch.
#14 is reserved for Meg Mac with Give Me My Name Back and Kylie takes #13 with Stop Me from Falling, while the first of Vance Joy's many top twenty spots is the #12 spot with I'm With You.

John Butler makes his second and final return to the top twenty with Just Call at #11 while Flight Facilities and Wafia take #10 and #9 with All Your Love and I'm Good.

Kylie returns at #8 with Dancing. Superstar and recent EMI signee, KIAN, takes the #7 spot with Waiting and Hayden James is back with Just Friends feat. Boy Matthews at #5. Confidence by Ocean Alley are #5 while Vance Joy take #4 with Saturday Sun.

The top three tracks for 2018 are as follows:

#3. The Rubens - Never Ever feat Sarah.
Never Ever has spent a total of 34 consecutive weeks in the charts, much of which was at #1.

#2. Vance Joy - We're Going Home.
Currently sitting at #2, We're Going Home has wracked up 48 weeks, much of it also at #1 or #2.

and finally.

#1.Sheppard - Coming Home.

Dominating the charts as usual, Sheppard are our number one for 2018. Coming Home has been a massive success both at home and overseas for the band, sitting at #1 for most of the 59 weeks it has been in the charts.
