Camp Cope has had enough.
Australia’s answer to Bikini Kill and the antithesis of the problematic all-boys clubs of the punk scene, Georgia, Kelly and Sarah bring everyone to task in their new single, The Opener. With lines like “You worked so hard, but we were just lucky to ride those coattails into infinity,” “all my success has nothing to do with me,” and calling out all the unsolicited advice they’ve received over the last two years since making the big time. They've got one thing to say-;
"Look how far we've come not listening to you."
The Opener is a three minute forty affront to manipulative relationships. It's also the lead single of their, as yet untitled, second full-length due for release sometime next year. In true Camp Cope fashion, the album was nailed over a three-day session at Holes and Corners studio in South Melbourne. The Opener is the band’s first release since last November’s split single “Keep Growing”.
The Opener is out now on all good media platforms through Poison City, and your last chance to catch Camp Cope live for the next few months is December 3rd at The Forum with RVG and Cash Savage and the Last Drinks.
