AIR’S FAST TRACK FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) is thrilled to announce the recipients of the first ever Fast Track Fellowship program are: -
Pieater & Wantok Musik

Representatives from both labels will spend two months between January 2018 and May 2018 embedded within high-functioning global music companies. The program will establish strong links to key international markets and build effective ongoing relationships that can be developed into sustainable economic partnerships as well as provide unique professional development opportunities
This is an exclusive and exciting opportunity made possible thanks to a key initiative of the Victorian Government's Music Passport program, part of the Labor Government’s landmark $22.2 million Music Works strategy designed to strengthen the global reach, profile and capability of Victoria's music industry.

Tom Fraser is the director of expanding local collective Pieater, a management company / record label, formed in partnership with Jo and Tom of Big Scary. Originally an outlet through which Big Scary could release their music, Pieater is now home to Airling, Christopher Port, #1 Dads, No Mono, Slow Dancer and has become a thriving community within itself - with a focus on nurturing an artists creative direction and voice.
Tom Fraser’s industry nous and his dedication to the development of Pieater’s artists has been vital to the release of some of Australia’s best-loved contemporary music and to Pieater's establishment as an important part of the Australian music scene and winner of the 2017 Australian Independent Record Labels Association “Best Label”.

"We're so grateful to be given the resources and partnerships to spend a considerable amount of time in the US during 2018. We think of the Pieater family as “global citizens” and are very excited to cement existing relationships, create new ones and broaden our opportunities. Creative Victoria has been very helpful in supporting the musicians in the past, but to see them look into supporting business growth is fantastic - behind every successful artist is a passionate team, who also need support and nurturing. Bring on 2018!” Tom Fraser - Pieater.
